National Night Out

National Night Out (NNO) is an annual, nation-wide, community-building event that brings neighbors together with local police and government officials for a cook-out and conversation, promoting good relations and safe, healthy neighborhoods.  The event used to be held on the first Tuesday in August. But starting in 2023, Durham Police Department re-scheduled it to October, hoping for cooler temperatures.

NNO 2024: Tuesday October 1 was a perfect fall afternoon, so we had a great turnout of neighbors and law enforcement officers for a fun gathering in the park.  TPNA provided hot dogs, pizza, drinks, and snacks, while neighbors brought their favorite sides and desserts.  Special thanks to organizer Steve Falzarano and grillmaster Drew Poplin!  Thanks also to Larry Apple for taking pictures.
