Annual Trinity Park Pops in the Park Concert

Trinity Park Neighbors, mark your calendars for 3PM Saturday, May 11th for the annual Durham Symphony Orchestra “Pops in the Park” concert! This concert is brought to you by your neighbor Ellen Dagenhart and the Trinity Park Neighborhood Association.

The symphony is a wonderful jewel and asset to the Durham community and we are fortunate that they are able to delight us each spring with this wonderful concert! The concert will begin promptly at 3PM and last approximately 90 minutes. So spread the word to your friends and neighbors, and bring the kids out for a wonderful afternoon!

The Symphony’s always popular Spring Pops in the Park concert series celebrates an enduring tradition of bringing classic and familiar American music to our communities. So, join the Durham Symphony for an exciting Mother’s Day celebration featuring popular classical works by Tchaikovsky, “Ragtime King” Scott Joplin and Florence Price, the African-American composer, whose music was re-discovered 50 years after her death and now played across America. Don’t miss John Williams’ musical fireworks finale from the first STAR WARS film! May the MUSIC be with you!

This year the concert will be held in the Watts Street School. Chairs will be provided but please bring your own if you are able as we tend to run out seats. Additional seating has also been arranged to handle the crowd.

In addition to the generous donation provided by the Trinity Park Neighborhood Association, the symphony also relies on charitable donations to thrive, please bring a cash donation as you are able to place in the hat as it passes through the crowd.
