Adopt a Drain: Litter-free Creeks, Lakes; Fewer Flooded Streets

Did you know???

The City of Durham runs an “Adopt-a-Drain” program, encouraging volunteers to clear litter, leaves, and debris away from storm drains.  Keeping these drains clear helps keep litter out of our creeks and lakes, and reduces localized flooding during storms.

There are 143 adopted drains in Durham, including several in Trinity Park, but there are MANY more available for adoption.  Check out https://bit.ly/draindurham to see a map of the drains all over Durham, and sign up to adopt a drain near you!
