Lighting luminaries along neighborhood streets is a beautiful winter tradition, and it is scheduled to happen throughout Durham this year on Sunday, December 19, at sundown.
Please join your neighbors in lighting up the neighborhood and supporting the Riverside High School PTA with proceeds from the purchase of luminaria kits.
Neighbor Mollie Flowe will be offering kits for pick up in the Trinity Park on the 19th, 3pm – 5pm. The cost of one kit (bag, sand, candle) is $1. You can also pick up materials for luminaries on my porch (924 Urban) on Dec. 17 and 18, any time before 8pm. Pay via cash or check to RHS PTA, or email Mollie (mollieflowe@hotmail.com) for her venmo handle.
Any students needing volunteer hours: teenage helpers are needed on the 19th! Also welcome: Santa, musicians, George Clooney, or other entertainers. We look forward to seeing you and to seeing the neighborhood streets lined with luminaria!
